HMI Design Department

During the spring of 2024, I had the privilege of being an intern at Lynk & Co's HMI Design Department as part of my education Digital Designer (YRGO). Throughout this internship, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the two dynamic teams Exterior Experience and Visual Identity. Follow along and I will introduce you further to the projects.*

Visual Identity

Project Overview

Creating a new visual identity for an upcoming automotive series, with a primary focus on UI, the launcher, icons and design concepts. Adapting new design to existing UI framework.

Exterior Experience

Project Overview

Designing animations for a specific context, effectively communicating narratives and messages within a brief duration. Synchronizing animations seamlessly with exterior lighting.

Challenges

Innovation & Learning

Mastering new techniques in a high-paced environment with limited experience and tight deadlines.

Cultural Alignment

Creating animations and designs that resonate with Chinese culture, despite minimal prior knowledge.

Approach

Design Concept & Storytelling

Interpreting design concepts and the use of storytelling, dramaturgy, and symbols to highlight the content in animations.

New Technique

To embrace the challenge of mastering new techniques, I sought guidance from ChatGPT and engaged in research and collaboration with colleagues to enhance my skills in these new techniques.

Learning about Chinese culture

To deepen my understanding of Chinese culture, I did online research and had insightful conversations with Chinese colleagues. ChatGPT and Youtube also provided valuable context, enriching my knowledge about Chinese traditions and values.

Planning

Seamless collaboration using Jira, weekly sprints, and daily check-ins ensured efficient project management.

Iteration

Enhancing design concepts through feedback and ongoing refinement.
